Investing in quality V8 Flooring is not only safe, protecting your flooring investment with regular floor maintenance and cleaning is quick and easy. In most cases, simply sweeping your floor and mopping regularly with a mild solution of soap and water is all that is required.v-8 Floor Maintenance

Basic Care Instructions for V8 Flooring

  • Remove dust and debris by sweeping the floor on a daily basis
  • Mop as needed using warm water and a gentle detergent such as our Xtreme Clean
  • Scrub as needed using non-abrasive scrubbing pads
  • Rinse completely using warm water

To clean very large flooring surfaces, it is often more efficient to use a machine scrubber on your V8 floors. In this situation, we suggest setting your machine speed to low and using non-abrasive pads with a solution of warm water and a gentle cleanser such as our pre measured 15oz Xtreme Clean packets.

What if something spills on your floor?

It happens, especially in auto-repair shops and on factory floors – sometimes things like chemicals spill. Our Hybrid XT resin is very chemical resistant.

V8’s Hybrid XT resin is highly resistant to chemicals, the following chemicals can be spilled on V8 Hybrid XT floors without fear of ruining them.

Clorox® (10%) H2O Trisodium Phosphate Phosphoric Acid (10%)
Isopropyl Alcohol Stearic Acid Hydrochloric Acid (37%)
Vinegar / H2O (5%) Sulfuric Acid (10%) Sodium Hydroxide (25%)
Chlorinated H2O Motor Oil Brine-Saturated H2O (310g/l)
Sugar / H2O NaCl / H2O (10%) Nilotic Acid (50%)
Sodium Bicarbonate Muriatic Acid (10%) Sodium Hydroxide (50%)
Methanol Sodium Hydroxide (10%) Sulfuric Acid (50%)
Toluene Potassium Hydroxide (10%) Ammonium Hydroxide (50%)

A list of additional chemicals that can be used under special conditions as well as those not recommended for use on V8 Flooring Systems is available under Maintenance on the V8 Flooring Documentation Page.

We suggest taking precautions anytime you use a new cleaner for the first time. Testing the new cleaning solution on a small, not easily seen area of the floor will confirm that the cleanser will not cause discoloration or harm the flooring surface.
