Decorative V-8 Platinum Epoxy Coating after a Flood
Grand Rapids, MI
BACKGROUND: After 2 floods in under 10 years on the Grand River in Grand Rapids, MI , this homeowner grew tired of replacing their carpet in their basement. They wanted an easy to clean flooring solution that would last after a flood. Since this is a well used family area, they wanted something attractive as well. This is where our Platinum Color Pigment System using our 6.0 High Performance Epoxy was clearly a good match for them.
APPLICATION: This basement floor had layers of carpet glue that had to be removed before any coating could be applied. The glue removal was done with a Prep/Master Jr. diamond grinder and a STI 3003AR vacuum for dust collection. After being prepped for a coating by the grinder, the floor was shotblasted with an Impacts Americas S210e shotblaster. Shotblasting is the best surface preparation method for any floor that may have moisture issues. As an added insurance against future moisture, our REV M.V.P. was used as the primer coat. This Certified V-8 Installer then used 4 different Platinum pigments in our 6.0 HP Epoxy to create a one of a kind floor!
