Diamond Grind Michigan engineered floor coating systems is a division of Finished Concrete Floors of West Branch. It was formed when Owner/President Justin Benjamin and Project Coordinator Matt Bayne needed a new source of work. They wanted to keep their crew busy during the late fall, winter and early spring when pouring concrete was impractical.
“About eight years ago we teamed up with V-8 High Performance Floor Systems of Hudsonville, Michigan,” said Matt. We became Certified Installers of V-8 High Performance Floors and today serve residential and commercial customers throughout Northern Michigan.”
Their first engineered flooring job? Their own!
“Of course, we were skeptical of any new supplier from the start,” said Matt. “But our first job with V-8 was an engineered epoxy floor at our facility. The application was within our expertise. The product quality was excellent. And, the one-day installation proved to be ideal.”

A big flooring project puts Diamond Grind to the test.
This past winter the company took on one of its toughest jobs.
“There was an arts and crafts store in a nearby town that needed 5,000 sq. ft. of new flooring,” said Matt. “The challenge was ripping up the old carpeting and removing the accumulated mastic or glue. We next ground and leveled the surface. This was no easy job. The building was a former strip mall that was over 50 years old. It had an uneven floor showing decades of hard use.”

Diamond Grind applied a full-chip hybrid system from V-8 Products to the installation. The floor turned out perfectly. Diamond Grind was able to notch up one more gratified customer to its long list of successful clients.
“Over the years we’ve had other other flooring product companies approach us,” said Matt. “But no one has offered the ongoing expertise of V-8 nor the quality of their line of flooring products. We appreciate their occasional new project referrals, too.
“They’re not really suppliers anymore,” said Matt. “V-8 folks are more like partners who are committed to our ongoing success.”
